German Kölsch is a light golden ale known for its delicacy. It is clean-tasting and light-bodied with a slight fruitiness hidden by hoppy dryness. It is very rich in flavor but not filling, with a varying body, and medium to high carbonation. The head remains in the glass for some time, as with most of the German styles. The nose should have a faint herbal hint.
