This is a sweeter version of the English Porter style. It’s flavor results from reduced amounts of bittering hops, as well as the use of crystal malt in a powerful, highly kilned form. It exhibits a malty, smooth, but not overly sweet finish. The lingering bitterness of the Dry Porter is absent in this version of the style.
